Our names are Jordi, Gemma and Ari. We are writing you to explain about one of our favourite celebrations, ‘’alplec del caragol’’ is in September, it is a fair adventure and a dinner, we have snails and meat. We want you here because we watch you on TV and we like you. We are at all of your football matches!! We like your friend Messi, too. We thing your team is the best of the world and your coach, Pep Guardiola, too.
Gemma thinks you are so cool. Jordi thinks ‘HALA MADRID!’, but Ari thinks David Villa is a ‘maravilla’

Carnaval

Carnival is a party where people dress to the laughter of the party. Sometimes people wear very well prepared costumes and that is the backbone of the party. Horse rides in carriages are ready to march out and surprise people. The best of the party is when people gather up candy and streamers. The festival lasts three days and at the end of three days, there is the burial of the sardine that it is the named Carnestoltes.

Caga Tio

Hello boys.
Our names are Miriam, Albert Samarà, Albert Pon and Aleix, and we are going to explain to you how we celebrate (Caga tio).
Caga tio is a typical catalan party, where the boys hit a trunk at the same times that they sing a songs, when the song finishes the trunk gives presents to all the boys.
We celebrate this on 24 of December, it is not necessary to wear special clothes, the only thing than we need is a stick to beat the trunk and give food it, if you don’t give food to the trunk it doesn’t give to you a present.

Kobe Bryant

Is a best basketball player of the world in this moment.
Kobe Bryant was born in Philadelphia, later Kobe and his father went to Italy. He was very young.
Charlotte Bobcats chose Kobe in the number 12 of the first round in the Draft, but soon went to California, to play with L.A.Lakers, in this team Kobe improved as a person and a player. Kobe won many titles in L.A.Lakers, the two years before, won the titles. His best partner is Pau Gasol and his coach is Phil Jackson. This year, Kobe will go to All Star in the Conference West, but the last year didn’t go because Kobe injured in one match.

LLEIDA'S CARNIVAL

Hello my friends! Our name is Cris, Ruffed and Marian. We are writing you to explain you about how the people from Lleida celebrate carnival. In this celebration, we were costumes and we meet friends. In the street, there are a lot of floats and the music is very loud. Everybody dances… its very beautiful! We celebrate carnival the 28th of February, and it is still very cold. For that reason we go to the café to warm up. This year, we are going to dress up with a costume of “ Los Picapiedras ”. We are very impatient to celebrate this party.

Hello friends, we are going to explain you “ Aplec del Caragol”. It’s a celebration on 10th of May. This is a typical celebration of Lleida, my city. It’s a special celebration because we commemorate Saint Miquel. We like this day because all the people are together in the “aplecs”. There we dance, play with our friends and eat the typical dish “ Caragols a la llauna” and things like this.
The thing that we like very much is the Foam War. It’s very funny.
And you, if you want to have fun, just come to Lleida.

Carnival

Carnival is a festivity in which people dress up. It consists in enjoying this festivity with your friends, family…
There are a lot of types of costumes: ghosts, princess etc…
In some cities, there is a competition: the person that wears the best costume wins a present, it is the king.
All the cities do the procession; there are a lot of enormous and beautiful floats.
The people are on to the floats, give sweets to other people.
In some cities, the carnival is very interesting because there are some people that wear strange costumes.
One example is: the carnival of “Rio de Janeiro” where people wear a turkey costume.

Hello my friend,

We are students of Maristes Montserrat Lleida, and we are going to talk about a typical celebration of Catalonia: Sant Jordi, on the 23^rd of    April. During this celebration, it’s tradition that men give a rose to the women and the women give a book to men, and this is because there is a legend:

“There’s a dragon who destroyed cities and ate the people. One day, kidnapped  the princess of a castle, and a knight wanted to rescue her. In the blood of the dragon grew a very beautiful rose.”

We like a lot that day, it’s very beautiful.
